The initial stage The late stage
Causes:
The exact mechanism of development is not known but it is very often associated with increased exposure to stress, fatigue, exhaustion, etc.
Symptoms:
In the area of the macula occurs the accumulation of fluid and thickening of the retina (edema) which causes blurring and decreased visual acuity.
Treatment:
The disease can be diagnosed by examination of the eye background with the help of additional search FAG (fluorescein angiography) and OCT examination.
It is possible for the patient to self-control with Amsler’s test.
The disease usually goes away spontaneously, but full recovery may take several months. If the so called extrafoveal color leakage is found during examination with fluorescein angiography, treatment can also be conducted with argon laser treatment.
Very good results and acceleration of the treatment of central serous retinopathy in some patients has been achieved with local application of dorzolamide.
