Does your baby have to wear eyeglasses and is hard to persuade him to wear them regulary? Explain to him that wearing eyeglasses has to become part of the every day routine, like brushing teeth and putting clothes on. From Children’s Physician Networka suggestions are offered to ease your persuasion:
1. Let the child chooses frames on his own and you give him a compliment how good they look on him.
2. In the beggining he can wear them for a short time, until he is used to them.
3. Encourage him to wear glasses especially while doing something he likes, for example while wathing a cartoon or painting his favorite picture book.
4. Don’t bother him beacuse he doesn’t wear glasses, but compliement him when he puts them on.
5. Explain to him that wearing eyeglasses has to become part of the every day routine, like brushing teeth and putting clothes on.
6. Mention to him athletes, actors, singers or family members that wear glasses.
