New study shows that people who suffer from depression are more prone to losing their sight…
This conclusion was a result of a detailed analysis of medical records of more than 10,000 patients in the USA.
The study showed that the rate of depression in patients who reported loss of sight, is around 11 percent. After they took into account other risk factors – including age, gender and general health – researchers concluded that there is a significant correlation between vision loss and depression. The study, however, did not show that one health problem causes another.
The research results were published in the journal Jama Ophthalmology.
