Sergio Budicin, a retired professor of technical education from Pula, won the bronze medal at the 63rd International Fair of ideas, innovations and new products in Nurnberg for his invention: apparatus for putting drops in eyes…
As Segio said in an interview for the website Istarski.hr, when he learned that he is suffering from glaucoma he has decided that he must do something to make it easier to put drops in his eyes. “The instructions said that the dropper cannot come into contact with the eyelashes because it can contaminate the drug, and further complicate the vision,” said Budicin and explained that the device facilitates precise placement of eyedropper exactly to the iris of the eye, preventing the touching of eyelashes and the eyedropper, and it is not even necessary to have good lighting conditions or the best vision in order to use it.
Budicin explained how the device is used: “It is important to be in a laying position, preferably in a darkened room. The device need to be adjusted to the distance of the eyes, one part holding the lashes and preventing blinking which often bothers while dripping, and it is very easy and quick to use the drops.”
His invention was patented and he has announced new projects.
