Eating Fish for Better Vision

A new study revealed that eating fish at least twice a week, combined with the corresponding antioxidant intake, can further reduce the progression of eye diseases….

Eating oily fish may slow or even stop the development of age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of vision loss in people in older age.
U.S. scientists from Boston University have found that omega-3 fatty acids present in large quantities in certain types of fish, have a very positive effect regardless of whether the senile macular degeneration is at an early or advanced stage.
Some previous studies have shown that Omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of this disease.

A new study revealed that eating fish at least twice a week, combined with a diet dominated by foods with a low glycemic index and an adequate intake of antioxidants, such as vitamin C, can further reduce the chances of the progression of the disease to vision loss.
Scientists believe that the protective effect of omega-3 fatty acids can be explained by the influence on the presence of potentially harmful blood fats.
