Glasses Designed for Daltonists

colorblind glassesScientists have designed glasses with lenses that enhance the red and green color, which allows the colorblind people to see colors that they do not otherwise see, the Daily Mail reports…

Dr. Daniel Bor of the University of Sussex is blind to color which makes it difficult for him to work. However, recently glasses for colorblind were designed and he says he will be happy to wear them.
Dr. Bor tried the test glasses with Oxy-Iso lenses. “The biggest problem I have time during the presentation of seminars of students when they use red and green graphs, and I cannot see the difference between them,” said Dr. Daniel Bor of the University of Sussex.
‘Besides, it is difficult to combine colors when dressing. When I first put the glasses I was very excited. I was with my daughter at the gym and suddenly I could see the color of her lips. She wore a red-orange sweater and it suddenly stood out, “said Dr. Bor.
The glasses that were originally designed for medical use are the work of the American scientist Mark Changizi. ‘They were made in a way that people who wear them can see a clear difference between green and red, “said Dr Changizi.
Color blindness affects one in 12 men and one in 200 women. The problem of recognizing red and green is the most common form of color blindness, and a rarer case is the inherited failure to recognize blue and yellow hues of color. This disorder affects the same number of men and women. It is not known when Dr Changizi’s glasses will go into mass production.
