Croatian Society of Eye Opticians opened on the 26 September, 2008 in the sports hall of the Hotel Valamar Diamant an exhibition of appliances and equipment for opticinas where 34 exhibitors from Croatia, Slovenia, Poland and Czechland is participating. Exhibition will last from 26 to 28 September, 2008 and 250 participants is expected. This is the largest optical assembly in Croatia, while in Croatia 650 optician stores or 300 business entities – owners are working.
Istria is one of the leading regions in this business field, said president of the Association, mr. Miroslav Tenžera. “Our association is independent, it was founded 40 years ago – for optical education and olving professional problems, and in 2007 we finally managed to open the first Higher Optical school, on the Polytechnic in Velika Gorica. Our members have purchased and donated equipment to this school, equipped 6 boxses in the laboratory of the school. The school was founded after 15 years of commitment. Now we have initiated education, lectures, for employees in optical activities, and on this exhibition 85 opticians (who have passed education) will get their certificate of quality. Our association is independent of the Economy Chamber and the Chamber of Crafts, membership is voluntary, not mandatory. Every year we organise annual assembly of the association, and this is 12th year in a row that we are maintaining it in Porec, in the Hotel Valamar Diamant. “Every two years, and that is year 2008, we also held the Election Assembly. On Friday and Saturday is the business exhibition, signing contracts, and on Sunday from 9 -12 pm the exhibition will be openes for citizenship. I’m personally sorry that we do not have Optical Chamber as have lawyers, because it could affect on the proposing of legislation to prevent “bad business behavior”, for the benefit of our customers and service users. All members of our organization are volunteers, nobody is paid for work in the association. Hosts of “Riviere Porec” will please all our wishes and we are coming again next year. ” (R.V.A)
