Although not yet released for sale, U.S. researchers claim that these lenses, worn during the night, allow normal vision the next day…
U.S. scientists have patented special contact lenses that, when they are worn while sleeping, allow normal vision during the day. This reduces the need for wearing glasses or other contact lenses.
The results showed that these special contact lenses may slow down or even stop myopia in children.
“Our research shows that orthokeratology lenses are effective in stopping the progression of myopia. The effect that we noted in our examinees after only an hour of wearing the lenses is dramatic. Nearsighted participants of the study were able to read two additional lines of letters placed on the table to check vision, after only an hour of wearing the lenses, “explains Dr. Helen Swarbrick from the University of New South Wales.
