The End of Smart Phone Era? Glasses Will Replace Them!

microsoftbits-glasses2-blog480After Google introduced his Google Glass specs, it seems that even Microsoft is developing its own specs with support for augmented reality …

Smart phones have become a part of everyday life, and many people can’t even imagine (private and business) life without a mobile device through which they can communicate with relatives, friends and colleagues, browse websites, listen to music, record video and photos, and do many other things.
Although it seems that the time of mobile devices – smartphones and tablets is not yet at its peak, that the best is yet to come and that they will replace personal computers in the future for a large number of users, some are already thinking about the ‘next big thing’ after the phones. Some journalists from the Business Insider believe that it will be – the glasses!

They say that as years go by, computers are becoming smaller – they first occupied the entire room, then came desktops and notebooks, PCs and now you can hold them in just one hand. The next step could be computers that we carry on ourselves in the form of eyeglasses.
Business Insider released an article on the end of the period of smartphones after some details of the patent, which Microsoft reported last year, appeared in public and which revealed that the company plans to develop special glasses that will have support for augmented reality.
Similar glasses were earlier introduced by Google, although the BI reference to the latest information say that Google’s glasses will not have support for augmented reality. These glasses contain all the important information that can be seen on the screens of the phone – we can make calls and send messages (with but the names of contacts and messages dictated), took photographs and more.
Thus, instead of constantly pulling the phone out of the pocket, looking for contacts and typing to take photographes and send those photos to somebody or posting them on social networks, with glasses you could do all of this faster – by speaking.
For example, when we want to take a photograph, we just need to say to our glasses ‘Take photo’ and they will immediately take pictures of what is in front of us and then we can tell them to send the picture to someone or share it on Facebook, which will immediately be done.

Ideal for watching sports

Microsoft’s patent is described on UnwiredView and on this site it is said that their glasses are not intended for everyday use, but only for special applications such as games or concerts.
The patent itself mentions baseball, but the reality can be extended to apply to all sports. The glasses would display names over players who are around the ball, and it would be possible to run some other information.
Given that this is a patent, it is not currently known whether Microsoft will really present it in the future. However, it became quite possible that we’re really going to talk to our glasses in the future and in that way communicate, take photos and browse the web.
