July 16, 2012 Xanthelasma is a painless flat yellowish protrusion on the medial parts of the eyelid. It is built from clusters of lipoid cells. Appearance of xanthelasma is associated with hyperlipemia. It has no medical meaning, but is usually surgical removed for cosmetic reasons. Apart from the eyelids, xanthelasma occurs over the upper thighs and the gastric mucosa.
