Glasses that can translate Japanese menu while reading it were presented last week at the CEATEC technology show in Japan. The inventors believe that the glasses will be ready for sale in time of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
NTT Docomo demonstrated its latest invention that combines a camera , a computer and the knowledge to provide the costumer with completely new look at things in his of her visual field. Glasses could be of great help in a country where signs and menus in foreign languages ??are not as common .
Japanese alphabet recognition technology provides instant translation of language to users who travel abroad and read menus and other documents , said the producer DOCOMO in the media release.
Another application on the glasses turns any flat surface into a touch screen where the user can for example search the Internet with the help of the circle around the finger that touches the keys and information that only he sees.
The other possible applications of glasses are face recognition and person’s identity and his or her functions with the help of Address Book in smart phone which also has stored photos of that person.
