Each year Essilor manufactures 215 million lenses, and from 30.000 employees 500 of them are in four research laboratories… One of the most important companies for glass lens manufacturing in the world, Essilor from France, is more and more turning to the Croatian market, where last summer they had s great action of introducing the home public with their services. Essilor optika d.o.o. is croatian branch for the Essilor International company that has been working in Croatia since 1999 and for years has one of the leading roles on the market in selling lenses and optical equipment. Essilor designs, manufactures and adapts corrective lenses by using modern technology and by satisfing all the requests of the modern times. They have 20 employees in offices in Zagreb and Split. Essilor International all over the world has 30.000 employees, and in four research–development teams has 500 researches. They have unique global network of 195 optical laboratories and 17 manufacturing drives. According to data brought up in the company itself, in 2006 a manufacture of 215 million lenses has been accomplished. There are increasing requests on the market for new lenses that don’t collect any dust, easier to clean and more tranparent. Those lenses successfuly eliminate the enemies of clear vision: glare, dust, finger prints and schratches, and Essilor is the company thaht follows that trends in the biggest scale. Because of the advanced and strict technology that most of the new lenses are made with, wearers of the glasses have an opportunity to experience the perfect clearity of vision. Petra Logožar, who represent the company in communication businesses, has that Essilor’s world slogan is “See the world better”. “Throught this we mirror the approach of education for all who are interested about lenses. In this way on all the presentations of Essilor everybody can find out a lot about products, why it’s not good to buy glasses on the street, when is it neccesary to control your vison and much more useful for your eye health”, said Logožar. This slogan Essilor is also applying in cooperation with education institutions from the proffesion field. So, in Croatia company has a special programme of cooperation that has been successfuly conducted for 8 years with middle optical school within the Technical school Ruđer Bošković. Each year they award three best seniors, 4 times every year they organise lectures for different classes, take them to visit the lens factory in Vienna. Besides that, each year they gace students lenses to practice.
