Eye Week Website Launched

The National Eye Health Week website has launched in preparation for this year’s awareness campaign which will take place from Monday June 14 to Friday June 18…

Visitors to the website, www.visionmatters.org.uk, can get advice on how to set up their own event and check what else is planned in their area. On launch day (April 1) the two events listed were the Vision 2010 conference on June 15 and a parliamentary reception for the following day. However, more are promised as plans are finalised.
For the general public there is a short questionnaire which, when complete, tells the user if they qualify for any free eye care and how often they are recommended to visit their local practice.
In a bid to promote the message of national eye health week, the website also features a section which explains why sight testing is important and gives advice on how to look after your eyes by, for example, eating the right foods, consuming less alcohol and getting plenty of exercise.
