She ignored the warnings and now she can hardly see….
Lauren Platts from the UK recently drank one third of a bottle of vodka, and the next day she woke up with severe nausea. For two days she could not get out of bed and nearly got blind. She still occasionally loses her sight, and even when she can see everything is blurry.
About two months ago a 21-year-old Lauren Platts bought a bottle of vodka with a dubious origin. A saleswoman warned her that she could go blind as a consenquence, and Lauren she just smiled.
She drank a third of the bottle with lemonade, and the next day she woke up with severe nausea and migraines, and could not see well. Due to the weakness, she was unable to get out of bed for two days.
Although two months had passed since this event, the Daily Mail reports, Lauren still does not see well, sometimes completely loses her sight and fears that vodka caused her permanent damage.
The doctors explained that methanol from alcohol may well damage the optic nerve, and symptoms manifest in the form of nausea, dizziness and weakness. Police used this opportunity to once again highlight the danger of consumption of counterfeit alcohol.
