Although Google’s new product was announced as the future in the world of technology, the glasses are still far from the expected success…
Every day there is a new review of the Google glasses, and it is getting clear that the new “technological marvel” is seriously flawed, and that the large number of potential users won’t like them.
Business Insider compiled a list of complaints collected by those who had the chance to try out the new Google product.
1. The battery life is too short – Endgadget announced that the average battery life is about five hours while some argue that it is a maximum of three hours of active use. Bloggers say that this is one of the biggest failures of the gadget that you should use all day.
2. Users are disoriented, and the glasses cause headache – users who have had the opportunity to use the glasses claim that the focus on a specific message or notification makes them feel disoriented and added that after prolonged use, glasses cause severe headaches.
3. The screen is difficult to see in daylight
4. Poorly designed settings – Endgadget writes that it is impossible to adjust the volume, disable WiFi and Bluetooth, you cannot arrange applications, and there is no option to modify a number of other options that users are accustomed to.
5. Voice controls are full of bugs – Google Glasses can be control in two ways, by using the panel on the side of the glasses and with the help of voice control that often “catches” the instructions from your environment and thus start undesired operations.
6. You still need a smartphone – at this stage, the glasses still require a smartphone for data transmission which further burdens the battery of your smartphone, but also your bill, depending on the service provider.
7. Glasses are hard to keep from damage – ordinary glasses can be folded, which is not the case with Google Glasses. In other words, since you cannot fold them in a “traditional way” sensitive parts (like the screen) are exposed to hazards. The glasses come with a protective box, but it is also not very convenient to use.
8. Replying to messages is too complicated – unless you speak very slowly and clearly, the glasses will record your message wrongly, which means that you have to say the whole message again.
