PINGUECULA

 

It is a hyaline degeneration of conjunctiva binder by the medial part of the limbus of the cornea. It is yellowish in color, round in shape, measuring about 2 mm. It is very common after the age of thirty.

Treatment:


Does not require treatment, if prone to inflammation (pingueculitis) or if the appearance bothers the patient, it can be surgically removed.
