Medical phenomenon in Serbia: The Girl from Užice sees everything upside down. Doctors told her she was the only one in the world!
Bojana Danilović (26) from Serbia normally sees what other people see upside, reported Belgrade’s daily Blic. Serbian media reported that her case is dealt by the U.S. researchers from Harvard and MIT.
– Simply put, I see differently than others. The main problem is my orientation, because I do not know which is left and which is right. In Boston I was proclaimed a neurological phenomenon – said Bojana, an economist by profession who works in the City Administration in Užice. She does everything normally, but she stressed that her problem is the poor orientation. Doctors have told her that she was probably the only one with this problem.
The tests showed that her brain is completely healthy and that she was a person with above average intelligence. However, it was found that there is a different field of vision and the vision center than in any other man. Bojana’s brain registers the scene normally, but receives an image differently, upside down.
– You do not know how we see, we do not know how you see. That’s what the doctors told me. That’s why I can’t explain anyone how I perceive things – says the young girl whose friends call her Bojana Upside Down.
– Everything started wrong with me. At birth, rather than coming out with my head first, I came out with my legs, but problems arose when I went to school because I could not read and write like other children.
All of this Bojana survived, and with time got used to people’s whisper and astonishment when they see that she is writing from the bottom up. – When I work on a computer, the keyboard is facing down, the monitor reversed, so in America they promised that they would make a special program for me. Also when I write text messages – the screen is down, the buttons above.
24sata.rs reported that she was accepted by colleagues at work and have sympathy for her. But her life is still full of unusual situations so that on their wedding she got into an argument with a priest, because he did not understand why she turned the paper upside down on which she had to sign.
