Canadian psychologist Daphne Maurer revealed an unusual way to improve vision in people suffering from eye cataract…
Cataract is an eye disease that affects all people regardless of age, but usually the elderly. Congenital cataract occurs as a developmental anomaly or due to certain types of infections which infants were exposed in the womb.
With this type of disease not even surgical intervention or wearing contact lenses can treat it. However, some of the vision problems caused by cataract are possible to rehabilitate with the short-term “games therapy”, which had previously proven to be effective in people with “lazy eye” or those suffering from amblyopia, a disorder in the brain when the vision in one eye is not fully developed.
– After only forty hours of playing video games for a period of four weeks thanks to casino free spins, patients were able to see smaller letters better, as well as the direction of moving dots in motion. They were also better in recognizing faces. This shows us that the human brain is flexible to such an extent that it can be trained to ignore certain sensory defects – said the psychologist Daphne Maurer from McMaster University in Canada, who has been investigating the development of vision in individuals born with cataract in both eyes.
