If you want to have blue eyes, pretty soon you’ll be able to have them in only 20 seconds, with a treatment that promises transforming naturally brown eyes into entirely blue ones…
An ophthalmologist from California Greg Homer has developed a laser technique that can turn brown eyes into blue. The basic assumption during his research was the fact that blue eyes have brown pigment, melanin, deep in the iris and on the surface layer.
In this way other particles of light are absorbed, according to Homer, while the length of the shorter light particles scatters around, creating a brighter appearance of the iris, according to French media.
Eye color change surgery takes about twenty seconds and is done thanks to Homer’s ‘Lumineye’ technology which is based on the removal of brown pigment from the surface layer of the iris.
After a quick intervention, the eye color changes gradually, and the whole process is completed in two to three weeks. It is necessary, however, to be absolutely sure of the desire to change eye color as a return to the old color is simply not possible.
The operation, according to some announcements, should cost 3.600 euros, and in about 13 months it is expected that this procedure will be present all around the world.
